Executive Council

There is a central executive council made of at-large representatives of each of the following regions
  • English-speaking West Africa
  • French-speaking West Africa
  • East Africa
  • Central Africa
  • North Africa
  • Southern Africa
as well as representatives from established national physics-related professional societies.

Technical Groups

There are 16 technical groups in the African Physical Society.  These groups help plan symposia at our annual conference as well as other meetings, workshops, and mini-courses.  They help keep the general membership aware of new and ongoing funding for research and training in the respective sub-fields.  Each  is a forum for networking and information exchanges including student advising and mentoring as well as research collaboration.
